Algerian president Bouteflika orders his ministers meet the interior minister’s needs and demands

Governmental sources revealed that the Algerian President Bouteflika directed during the council’s latest meeting with the ministers, many instructions to provide all necessary facilities to the minister of interior in the framework of the fight against terrorism by providing all the interior minister’s requests.

• The same source revealed that the president of the republic addressed the ministers during the coucil meeting saying that “ the government is responsible for the fight against terrorism and ensure security in Algeria, and not the ministry of interior or defense alone”.
• The president said that the governemnt is working to empower the interior minister from proposing and including some legal texts in some draft laws and sectoral boundaries, in areas which are falling whithin its powers.
• In the same framework, and during the hearing which he held with the finance minister, Bouteflika gave instructions to Judi for providing all what Zerhouni requested for the acquisition of necessary equipment in the war against terror.
• In the framework of expanding the security powers of intervention inside the prisons within the control of the internet as well as the library of prisoners and all what they read, a procedure agreed upon between the ministry of justice and interior under the joint of a ministerial decree between the ministry of interior and justice, and national defence, published in the official Gazette and entered into execution last May.
