Algerian president call for reinforcing the Planning Commission’s role

The Algerian president Abdelaziz Bouteflika asked from the finance minister Karim Djoudi to provide the general commission of planning with all the necessary tools to facilitate its task in making decisions concerning major economic issues to fend off previous mistakes similar to those committed for the privatization and the first version of the Hydrocarbons laws.

The high commissioner of planning has been appointed in July 2008 to be followed by the National Council of Census to substitute the former National Office of Census

In this respect, the president gave clear instructions to the finance minister in which he asked him to restructure the National Office of Census and start a national plan likely to ensure coherence in the national economic policy.
