Algerian Presidential Coalition: “Egypt crossed red lines and must withdraw its decision immediately”

FLN, MSP and RND describe the decision as “Irrational” and would worsen ties between the two countries, just like former decisions by large powerful countries like USA and France.

 Three Algerian political parties criticize the Egyptian decision to place Algeria in the black list countries with danger of terrorism, which includes Somalia, Iraq, Mauritania and Yemen.

FLN party rejected Egypt’s “dare” to include Algeria within the black list of countries with danger of terrorism, as Mr Kassa Issa, spokesman for the party said; “This is not the first time in which the Egyptian authorities take such a diplomatic decision. When we talk about fear of terrorism, Egypt was among the countries which produced terrorism through supporting it intellectually and ideologically. In Egypt there are leaders of terrorism”.

FLN spokesman asserted; “We think this decision is not Egyptian, but it was ordered by its new allies”, referring to the besieged Palestinian people in Gaza, which was blessed by Egypt.

“I wish Egypt would reconsider this decision which will not harm Algeria, but it would bring negative consequences on itself, because Egypt needs us more than we do. I think it is time to review the Arab League way of working, its location and those who manage it. Egypt’s decision towards Palestine and Gaza people makes this new decision towards Algeria a normal one”.

Spokesman of MSP, Mohamed Jomaa said Egypt crossed the red line in their dealings with Algeria.

“This red line is dangerous and we will not allow anyone to cross it. We will not accept insulting our civilians. We did not accept such a decision from USA and France, how can we accept it now with Egypt?? Egyptians know that Algeria-France ties had reached the limits of rupture due to France abuses against us “.

“Egypt decision has no reason, unless political backgrounds such as football. It also tried to punish Algeria following its national positions towards the Palestinian case. This is a blackmail against Algeria in view of the problems which face some of its institutions and economic companies in Algeria”, in a clear reference to Orascom .

RND spokesman Miloud Charfi said; “Neither Egypt nor any organization or country has the right to judge Algeria for what is happening on its soil. If it claims to be leader of the Arab League, where was Egypt when Algeria was fighting and combating terrorists?  Egypt was simply silent and had no position, but more, it contributed in spreading terror in Algeria”.

“ After the measures of peace and reconciliation  by the President Bouteflika, Algeria has become a model in fighting terrorism, which proved that it has no limits and borders. We refuse Egypt’s errors. We are a country that has an important place in the international opinion and we do not need any classification. We get accustomed to such glides by this “Arab” country. This was unexpected and we feel sorry for that decision. Algerians have a clear position. We ask Egypt to withdraw immediately its decision and stop provocation of Algeria using extortion and bargain; otherwise, it will remain the only loser”.
