Algerian Prime Minister: terrorists must surrender or be killed
Ahmed Ouyahia, Algerian Prime Minister

Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia Tuesday said the government is following the case of the Algerian diplomat Mohamed Hassan Ziani jailed in France.

  • The prime minister told Echorouk that the case is still in the process of being decided by French justice.
  • “I believe that the national press has brought some information on this case,” he added, hoping that the former official at the Algerian Foreign Affairs Ministry would be released as soon as possible.
  • Asked about the constitutional amendment, Ouyahia said “let’s deal with things on their time.”
  • The prime minister urged the national press to not fall in the trap of terrorists’ objectives by promoting some false and misleading news.
  • “Journalists must not be turned into tools to serve criminals.”
  • According to him, terrorists have only 2 choices no more. “Either they can surrender for benefiting from provisions of the Charter for Peace and National Reconciliation or be eliminated by security forces.”
  • He said he will not respond to statements of terrorists who threatened to hit back at Algerian security and army forces.
