Algerian Prime Minister: We will consider foreign news agencies which horrified Algerians

Algerian Prime Minister Abdelaziz Belkhadem said that he had assigned communications minister Abderrachid Boukarzaza to listen to correspondents of British news agency Reuters and French AFP about the misinformation concerning a terrorist bombing that rocked a bus station in Bouira province.

• Belkhadem confirmed that measures would be taken against these reporters after a report from communications minister.

• Prime minister added on the sidelines of his supervision of the world congress about real estates management he had assigned communication minister to follow up the file of information and erroneous media reports.

• According to hearing reports due to be discussed by the minister of communications, who held meetings with Reuters and AFP correspondents, Belkhadem stressed the consideration of these measures because they belong to the government’s duty in order to stop these propaganda.  “It is offending Algeria’s reputation and influencing on its interior stability.”

•  A number of foreign agencies had provided false information about non existing explosive that rocked a bus station in Bouira province.  They also exaggerated the number of  dead people in Beni Amrane region in Boumerdes province.

• This false information was media matters for many foreign Arab and Western channels and was the cause of Defence and Interior ministries move to deny these news that horrified Algerians.

• In a different context, Prime Minister Abdelaziz Belkhadem rejected speech about governmental amendment.
