Algerian prisoner in Libya died four days ago
The Libyan penitentiary administration announced the death of the Algerian prisoner Abdelmalek Al Atrache whose health condition deteriorated 10 days ago. The family’s victim called for a post- mortem examination to determine the exact date of his death, which concluded that the man died four days ago in his cell.

In a telephone conversation with “Echorouk”, Abdelhalim Ramdani revealed that the prisoner was so weak that he couldn’t talk nor hear and that his health status deteriorated to a point that he couldn’t even go to the toilet.

He added that the penitentiary’s administration neglected the prisoner and didn’t provide him the basic medical cares. The same causes led to the death of his fellow Algerian prisoner, Boufellous last May.

The Algerian prisoners’ representative in Libya laughed off the consulate and embassy’s declarations saying that the prisoner died yesterday blaming them for working hand in hand with the hospital’s administration in issuing an erroneous death certificate.
