Algerian prisoners in Iraq warned the Foreign Minister Ramtane Laamamra, of what they called “cunning of Iraqi authorities”, adding that they aim to blackmail and them and extort Algeria.

“We are 10 prisoners and not 9 as is currently said by media”.

The letter read: “Your Excellency, we do not hide our fears of the deceit of Iraqi authorities to us, especially as they have precedents in this area, and have already manipulated in the names of prisoners from other countries after it decided amnesty for them, of course, some of them found that his name is wrong and some others found a second case that it has not been notified before, to find finally that it has no problem, and that they just delay the process for the purpose of blackmailing the prisoner himself or his authorities often.”

“We wanted through our mission to clarify some points, as the number of Algerian prisoners in Iraq are ten, including eight who are condemned in issues that exceed the borders according to the Passports’ Law, and among those eight, five convicts over passports only, and they do not have other issues at all, as reported, throughout the past eight years by the legal sections in their prisons.”
