Libya leader Muammar El Gadhafi

Algerian prisoners in the Libyan jails, confirmed on Saturday, that one of their friends who was at the intensive care died few days ago, saying that his name is A.A who suffered from tuberculosis, while their families asked the Algerian consulate to intervene in order to determine the exact identity of the dead Algerian prisoner.

  • Algerian prisoners could not explore whether it is A.A who died because of the low amount of glucose in his blood, while they confirmed in a secret contact with their families’ representatives, that one of them died on last Friday to Saturday.
  • Algerian prisoner A.A was deprived from treatment after his health conditions exacerbated because of tuberculosis inside the Libyan prisons, where his weight dropped to 29.5 kg – according to his friends’ testimonies- after he was in a good health when he entered there in 2005 on charges of drug possession.
  • One of the Algerian prisoners said in a phone contact with Echorouk, that the Algerian consulate in Libya refused to talk with them, and spared the contact with them each time, since the death of A.A.
  • The same sources added that this is the tenth death issue among the Algerian prisoners, the latest was Boufelous from Skikda province ( East of Algeria ) death.
  • It is expected to record other deaths, because some Algerian prisoners are suffering this time from AIDS.
