Algerian Streets Count 180 Criminals Every Day
Report on the National Gendarmerie warned of the rising crime rate, as the last outcome indicates that 180 people are implicated every day in the murder and fraud, assault and theft, etc., while women crimes exceeded men’s during the last ten months of the current year, as more than 2000 women were implicated in various crimes, including public disorder.
According to the report, the gendarmerie counted 59,752 crimes, with the rate of 167 crimes daily, in which about 63.000 people are implicated, with the volume of 180 people per day, including more than 2000 women and 2300 minors within the recent 10 months.
Women became involved in issues of disturbing public order like protests, as 57 women out of a total of 2202 arrested in various protests, while 560 others were implicated in attacks using bladed weapons.
The same report warned of the high percentage of offenses committed by kids, as the proceeds indicate that 80% of crimes against persons and properties were committed by kids less than 18, as crimes against persons and properties are the most important crimes which were committed by this catergory of citizens.
Over 1490 kids were arrested, as intentional assault and battery crimes are on top of the list with the implication of 574 minors who used various types of bladed weapons, especially swords and daggers in attacking the citizens, followed by thefts, with the arrest of 650 kids, who were also found guilty of crimes, like organizing a gang with 76 kids.
