Travel Agencies expressed resentment of high prices proposed by the Tunisian traders for current summer, contrary to what was hyped about attracting Algerians saying that Tunisians try to compensate their loss in tourism since December’s revolution.

Tourism traders agree that Turkey is still the destination number one for Algerians for the fourth season, as many of them booked tickets and hotels especially as the holiday season of this is short because of the holy month which coincides this year with August.

For other destinations, Egypt will be boycotted for the second consecutive summer after football troubles last year and due to revolution, unrest and lack of security for tourists in the current year.

The Tunisian destination is also witnessing and instability since the popular revolution and the fall of Ben Ali’s regime, as Tunisian authorities called upon Algerians in particular to massive attendance to Tunisia this summer in order to contribute to healing the wounds and revive tourism in this country after receiving a fatal blow.

Previously, the Tunisian Ministry of Tourism promoted trips towards its country in Algerian press in order to inform them of the situation there and marketing Tunisia’s image because it needs Algerian tourists. Same ministry said it will ensure all measures of security and safety, and reasonable prices that suit everyone. However, travel agencies refuted this information asserting that the prices offered by Tunisian traders currently, both in luxurious and modest hotels beyond the level of the situation in this country.
