Algerians and Turkish hand in hand to celebrate the victory

Algerians took joined the Turkish nationals in the streets of Algiers to express their joy for the historic victory over the Scheck republic squad in the Euro 2008.

•  Algerians took to the streets spontaneously as a solidarity gesture for a country and people which have a lot of common points historically and religiously speaking. The fact also that Turkey is the only Muslim country to take part I this competition weighed too much on he balance.
• In Turkey thousands went out soon after the match roaming in the streets Sunday night to celebrate this event. Scores flocked to the famous “Taksim” stadium in Istanbul waving flags and singing till dawn.
• In Ankara, thousands locked the streets and were closed to traffic despite the intervention of policemen, but this didn’t worry too much these fans who were happy to the big achievement.
• One policeman declared “what can I do..? we won and everybody wants to celebrate this, actually me as well..”
