Algerians to consume Indian meat during Ramadan

Public company of transforming and packaging “Sotrakov” continues the importation of meat from India, in anticipation to the next Ramadan, in order to be exposed in the national market with competitive prices, considering that the demand becomes frequent on this product during the holy month.
Same company will provide all the agricultural goods that are largely consumed in Ramadan, especially potatoes and onions.
Public company’s CEO, Djahid Abdelwahab Zefzaf told Echorouk;”There will be a lot of food items of the various food products, especially potatoes and onions during Ramadan, because this latter will coincide with the season of harvest, which will start next May and will continue until September, in addition to that the company has warehouses for storage that are distributed across the country in Chlef, Bourkika (Tipaza), Ain Mlila, Setif,Taref, Mostaghanem,Ghelizane, Mascara, and Mohamadia in Algiers, which conducts a strategic storage process with large consumption, and which happens during the period from October until the end of November, where the company will buy it from the peasant, and when the production stops the company will resort to supplying the Market which is one of its powers as a control authority.
Concerning meat importation, the company’s CEO asserted that the process is not related to Ramadan only, but is continuing along the year, therefore, the company will import this food from one country which is India, because of its commitment to the Algerian book of conditions, and because it is the first country which exports meat in the world, and second in terms of production.
