Algeria's Defence Ministry enforces new regulations for fulfilment of national service
The general management in charge of national service at the Defence Ministry has decided to implement a set of fresh measures aimed at better orientating young draftees liable, by virtue of the law in force, to accomplish their military service in the most appropriate conditions and in keeping with the deadlines set by the relevant commissions.
In an interview with the “El Djeich” news magazine, the head of the national service department General Ahmed Zanoune said that offices, in charge of military service issues, would be opened in all of the country’s 48 provinces with a view to addressing the concerns of the draftees notably regarding a possible reprieve or exemption from military service on the basis of bona – fide documents testifying to this effect.
He further underlined that the national service had always been a cradle of patriotism and hundreds of thousands of young people had been impregnated during their military service period, by the nationalist values while being directly involved in the achievement of numerous development projects with a deep sense of pride and gratitude towards the motherland.
