Amal Bouchoucha to Echorouk: “I am fortunate and Memory in the Flesh is a dreamâ€

Syrian director Najdat Ismail Anzour says she is the « surprise of the season », and the public will discover her role in the historical television dramas to produce a new series based on “Memory in the Flesh”, a novel by Algerian writer Ahlam Mosteghanemi.
- In an interview with Echorouk, Amal Bouchoucha discussed her role in “Memory in the Flesh”, especially as the countdown to the series began, and expressed her happiness and hopes, as well as concerns after the presentation for the Arab viewers.
- Tell us about your final moments of the series “Memory in the Flesh”.
- I am very happy, especially when I wear the traditional Gandoura or dress of women in Constantine, east of Algeria, (Katifa). I feel like I’m flying, as I know that all data refers to the success of this work, because of the creative Algerian writer Ahlam Mostaghanemi and amazing director Najdat Ismail Anzour, who is a high style artist.
- It is your first opportunity to act, and you immediately begin with a leading role. What are your impressions?
- I think I am very fortunate. Allah and my parents’ prayers helped me succeed in this role. Sometimes I say it is unbelievable, when I find my self among these amazing people, who constantly encourage me. It is a beautiful dream.
- Did your appearance during the World Cup on MBC contribute to your fame and gave you the opportunity to deal with the camera and public?
- Sure, my aim from appearing on MBC during the World Cup was encouraging Algerian football team. I cannot allow myself to speak on behalf of all Algerians, but I worked hard and I hope I will succeed in this work.
- You will marry after Eid al Fitr (Muslims religious feast). Is it true?
- Who said that? Marriage is still far away and all my interests now are succeeding in my new world.
- Tell us about the city of Constantine (east of Algeria).
- Every Algerian should be proud of Constantine. It is unique in the world. It is a wonderful city.
- Where will you watch the series “Memories in the Flesh” during Ramadan?
- Ramadan is a special month. I will spend the holy days with my family in Algiers, and I will accept any advice or critics. I wish Algerians will like my appearance and role in the series, because my dream is to add something good for my country at every step in my life.
