Amar Saâdani staunchly refutes offending remarks about military institution

FLN Party Secretary General, Amar Saâdani, has firmly denied the validity of statements attributed to him to the effect that President Bouteflika’s recent reforms were designed to curtail the all-pervasive role of the Intelligence Services in the country’s political life.

He said that some of his die-hard opponents within the FLN Party were eager to undermine him on the eve of the party’s central committee meeting slated for mid-December.

According to an MP and close collaborator of Amar Saâdani, the latter has vividly told him that he’s never made offending remarks about the military institution as reported by hardline opponents, alluding to Abderrahmane Belayat and Abdelkrim Abada who are eager, he argued, to wrench political spin-offs by excoriating and belittling Saâdani on this sensitive issue, as he put it.

He accused, in a statement to Echorouk, Saadani’s frenzied political foes of shirking the central committee meetings to express freely their views and positions and indulging instead in a covert destabilization campaign targeting Amar Saadani himself and his close entourage at the helm of the FLN Party.

“They seek to hit the party and sow discord after dismally losing support within the central committee itself”, the FLN Parliamentarian hammered.
