Annahda Called for Dissolving Parliament, Organizing Alternative Elections

Annahda Movement called on Friday for dissolving the parliament and re-elect it in a transparent and credible way, away from fraud and abuses, through a neutral committee to rule away from the partisan government, saying; “They promised the people, but they are not able to realize it” in an explici hint ‬to the President of the Republic ‭. ‬

The Secretary-General of the movement, Fateh Rabi, said in a speech during a meeting between Annahda officials at the party’s headquarters to assess the results of the elections, that the manipulation of the elections’ results confirmed by the National Committee for Monitoring Elections, which said in its report that the process was marred by a lot of violations and abuses in all stages from the beginning of the process to its end , and which distorted the fairness and transparency “Accordingly, the Committee considers that the legislative elections of 10 May have lost their credibility,” wandering about those who are responsible for what happened, and the consequences that dragged of it, including disabling the role of the legislative institution and its effectiveness in legislation, and ‭control, ‭and to find solutions to the concerns of citizens‭. ‬

The spokesman thinks that it is the repercussions of the last elections, and about aspect of the internal side, which is reflected in the awful rolling to illegitimacy, “because of granting the task of amending the Constitution as the supreme document in the country to a Parliament which lost its credibility”, while the other side is concerned with exposing the interests of Algeria to compromise and blackmail, by using the card of fraud in the face of Algeria as an instrument of pressure to pay the price, “saying:” We have seen how our diplomacy was heading back to Washington, and the other towards Paris, to persuade the west of the usefulness of political reforms, and the call of a foreigner to interfere in our affairs. “
