ANP troops pound terrorist hide-outs in Jijel Mountains

The Army heavily pounded Sunday suspected terrorist hide-outs in several mountainous areas of the province of Jijel, about 300 km east of Algiers, qccording to security sources

• Army forces subjected terrorist positions to an intense aerial and land bombing for several hours in the mountainous areas of Oued Adjoul and Milia, in the eastern part of the province.
• No further details are available for the time being as to the outcome of this counter-terrorism operation aimed at further tightening the ANP’s current stranglehold on the beleaguered terrorists gangs entrenched in the region.
• The Army raids were carried out after the regional military Command received information about the presence in the area of a group of 6 terrorists.
• These nefarious individuals, acting under the command of local terrorist chieftain “Lamloum Omar” are suspected of having perpetrated an ill-fated attack on a municipal guard outpost in the region during the holy month of fasting of Ramadan last month.
