Arabs of Israel lodge a complaint against Algeria before the Arab League
The Palestinian delegation that belong to the 48 territories who were denied participation in the forum for Palestinian prisoners held here in Algiers last week, has resorted to lodge a complaint at the Arab League and call to the Libyan president Moamar Al kadhafi, in his quality of the actual president of this organization, to pressure the Algeria president Abdelaziz Bouteflika and some other Arab parties to stop boycotting them.
- The Palestinian activists have indicated that they will formally send correspondences to the Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa and the Algerian president Abdelaziz Bouteflika to denounce the Algerian authorities’ decision not to invite them for this event because they bear an Israeli passport.
- It should be noted that Algeria has never allowed entry for people holding an Israeli passport to its territories since its independence in 1962.
- The Palestinian activist Kadri Abu Wassel , who was one of those denied entry to the Algerian authorities” has bluntly criticized the Algerian move that he branded as “ Oppression from relatives” indicating that “ some Arab countries that close the doors for us do not hesitate to open them for Israeli officials”. But this declaration was not directed to Algeria simply because it has always ruled out any form of normalization with the Israeli authorities and thus by extension all people holding the Israeli passport.
- To recall, the Algerian authorities have cancelled last week the visit of the Arab Israelis ( who dwell in the 1948 territories) to take part to the forum over the Palestinian prisoners organized by the Algerian party National Liberation Front under the sponsorship of the Algerian president Abdelaziz Bouteflika because they bear an Israeli passport.
- The party leader Abdelaziz Belkhadem has made it clear that Algeria will never let people bearing Israeli passports to enter its territories and that the Palestinian brothers should find another solution to visit Algeria.

- The chairman of the organizing committee Abdelhamid Si Affif has vehemently denied allegations that his institution has sent invitations to the members of this delegation or any other Palestinian bearing an Israeli passport, noting that his party will stick to the Algerian standpoint that refuses any form of normalization with Israel.
- He further indicated that this is not the first time that Algeria denied entry to its territories for people bearing Israeli passports since it did it in many occasions for various Palestinian personalities who were comprehensive to the Algerian move.
