Argentina President begins a two day visit to Algeria
Argentina president Cristina Fernandez De Kirchner begun a two day visit to Algeria Sunday accompanied by a delegation of ministers and 70 businessmen.

Algeria and Argentina are expected to sign conventions in many fields such as investment, space exploration, maritime traffic, mines, media and small and medium size enterprises. An economic conference will be organized. It will bring together about 50 Argentine businessmen and more than 200 Algerian economic operators.

Argentina is willing to step up cooperation with Algeria which already include nuclear technology.

“I wish President Fernandez De Kirchner’s visit to Algeria could develop cooperation between Algeria and Argentina especially in economy”, said Argentine Ambassador Ms. Bibiana Jones.

Economic cooperation between Algeria and Argentina reached 683$ million in 2006 and 874$ million in 2007. Algerian exportation towards Argentina were 95$ million in 2007 and importation moved up from 452$ million in 2005 to 622$ million in 2006.

In 2006-2007 Argentina joined the fourth list of the UN committee which agreed on the independence of Western Sahara.
