Armed Forces Eliminate a Moroccan Drug Smuggler, arrest three Algerians

A special unit of the Armed troops eliminate, on the borders with the Republic of Mali and Azawad territory, which is controlled by Ansareddine movement, a Moroccan smuggler and arrested three others in a combing operation by the armed forces on Sunday.

According to Echorouk sources, the process took place in a desert region called “Ananoussa” in the wilaya of Tamenrasset (southern Algeria), situated at a distance of about 700 km south of area adjacent to Mali borders, adding that the team of control of the armed forces, monitored the movement of two “Toyota Station” cars and inform the team of intervention which attacked the target as an enemy which stormed the borders, then hit the vehicle with a rocket-propelled attack from a helicopter until a vehicle surrendered, it stopped and three people raised their hands in sign of surrender.

An ambulance transfered the charred body, which belongs to a Moroccan smuggler according to the statements of he three Algerian detainees, who were transfered to the police station to complete the security investigation, believed to be a cell that is specializes in drugs and arms smuggling which are directly linked to smuggling cell with the terrorist group called al-Qaeda in the Sahel region, and its groups in Libya.

According to a data, there is a terrible confrontation between drug cells and terrorist groups in the Sahel region and Libya, especially as the armed forces recovered through this important operation, 10 Kalashnikovs, anti-tank explosives, and a considerable quantity of Moroccan cannabis estimated at 200 kg or 2 quintals that was loaded on the vehicle which surrendered.

The same data provided that the two vehicles came from Mauritania via Algeria in ordre to reach the Libyan territories, as most of the quantities of smuggled ‭drug ‭are directed to Libya before being transfered to the Gulf countries and ‬Israel, ‭where special cells ‭deal directly with other cells active in the south ‭and the Sahel of Africa ‭. ‬
