Army Delivers 410 Buses, Trucks To Public, Private Economic Institutions

Algiers Rouiba AMS-MB // SPA company in the 1st Military Region, handed over 410 Mercedes-Benz buses and trucks on Tuesday, including 267 for the Central Directorate of Equipment of the National Defense Ministry and 143 buses for public economic institutions, like NAFTAL, and the Services Management Company and Airport Facilities, and private institutions as well.

On the occasion, a new model of Sprinter vehicles was presented to the audience, which will be manufactured at the Tiaret plant (western Algeria) from January 2019.

This process shows, according to a statement of the National Defense Ministry, which copy is available to Echorouk, that the capacity of the Algeria insitution to produce the heavy weight of Mercedes-Benz in Rouiba, responded positively to the demands of its customers within the specified time limits, in line with the strategy that was set by the National Defense Ministry with the various bodies and institutions that are concerned to revive and activate the national industry.

This process is a reflection of the objectives that were set by the Supreme Command of the National People’s Army which aimed at creating an integrated national economic, and the great achievements of the National People’s Army in this field, as this also falls within the framework of the continuation of the economic recovery program that was initiated by the President of the Republic, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and the Minister of National Defense, which aimed at encouraging the national product. In accordance with the instructions of the Major General, the Deputy Minister of National Defense, the Chief of Staff of the National Popular Army, that aimed at developing various military industries, especially the mechanic ones, which covers the needs of the National People’s Army and the various public and private institutions of national structures.
