Army surrounds terrorists in western Algeria

According to well informed sources, intense activities of the terrorist group “ Salafit Call protectors” led by Salim Alfghani, have been recorded in the western regions of Algeria notably in several areas of Telemcen these last few weeks.

The same sources revealed that, small groups of 3 or 4 elements wearing Afghan suits targeted young shepherds in rugged regions in the province of Sidi Djillali to retreat to their hideouts afterwards.

According to specialists in security matters, these movements come against backdrop of a military surrounding imposed by the elements of the national popular army on the terrorists’ strongholds in the west, in addition to a large- scale combing operation in the mountainous regions of Tissimsilt carried out last month.

Answering to “Echourouk”, a military expert declared that the terrorists didn’t carry attacks since several months despite the fact that they posses weaponry and ammunitions, owing to the dismantling of several supporting networks by the security authorities.

The ring leader of the terrorist group, Salim Alfghani has posted a message on his website in which he denounced the suicide attacks perpetrated by the so called “Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb” against innocent civilians but never called for the stopping of the armed activities.

Indeed, Salim Alfghani is likely to give a new impetus to his movement taking as a model the “Taliban” strategy which consists in recruiting teenagers and brain wash them to create a new “breed” of terrorists.

This assumption is to be taken seriously in consideration, especially that several teenagers in the region of Telemcen have been reported missing, and all it seems that they have joined the terrorists group of Salim Al Afghani.

The group known as “ Salafit call protectors”, which stemmed from the original “Islamic Armed Group”led by Antar Zouabri,   includes some 100 elements and was the first to hail the 9/11 terrorists attacks in New York.
