Baccalaureate 2008 : Algerian President Bouteflika to honoure 125 best candidates

Algerian education minister, Abu Bakr Ben Bouzid revealed that only 125 best laureates in the 2008 baccalaureate exam will be received by the president Abdelaziz bouteflika in an official ceremony out 1,100.

• He added that an envelope of 40 millions Algerian Dinars was allotted to be distributed among the best candidates including travels to Turkey for some and laptops  for others.
• As concerns the laureates who live outside the capital city, the minister declared that ceremonies will be organized by their local authorities and stays in major Algerian cities were promised to them including dwellings in luxurious hotels.
• As to the decision to select 125 laureates for the president’s reception, the minister argued that the main cause was that the number of good laureates was so important this year that it was decided to shortlist the “A” laureates only.
