Bad weather conditions left havoc in northern parts of Algeria
The Torrential rain that battered the Western and central parts of the country were blamed for the killing of 5 persons in the provinces of Tlemcen, Tiaret and Blida and devastated crops in the region of Laghouat( southern Algeria).

Dozens of cars were washed away in the ports of Tipasa and Bouharoun ( 70 Kms west of Algiers) and a number of schools were damaged, while the inhabitants of the small town of Kolea ( 45 Kms west of Algiers) took to the streets to protest against the local authorities for being cut off from the outside world due to the chaotic weather conditions.

A special bulletin issued by the weather services foresees more rain today in the central parts of the country.

Several areas in the eastern part of the province of Tipasa including Bouharoun, Khemisti , Bousmail, and Douaouda were inundated and registered power outages and gas leaks.
