Barbaric attack against Algerian illegal immigrants in Spain

Two Algerian illegal immigrants was beaten by policemen in a detention center in Valencia in Spain causing serious wounds and fractures, according to Spain-based association president.

Adel Mounir lost four teeth and Youcef Aarab lost two teeth. They were beaten by the policemen following a quarrel in the center, Houria Shili told Echorouk.

She added that the victims were taken to the hospital where doctors confirmed they lost their teeth because of the Spanish policemen’s violent act.

The police tried to not reveal the beaters’ identity but the victims could recognize them as their faces were uncovered.

Dar El-Djazair association and a number of Spanish human rights associations and non-governmental organizations called on authorities to reveal the policemen’s identity and dismiss them.

They warned of notifying the Algerian consulate and embassy in order to take necessary measures.

Algeria’s Ambassador to Spain Mohamed Hannache told Echorouk on the phone that the embassy did not receive any claim about the attack.

The issue needs investigation before taking any measure. “The complainers can contact the consulate which will start investigating into this issue,” he said.
