Belkhadem disturbed Saadani's joyful meeting

Former Secretary General of the National Liberation Front (FLN), Abdelaziz Belkhadem, surprised his successor in the party Ammar Saadani, by attending a session while he presented his speech before FLN members at the Olympic Stadium, Mohammed Boudiaf, in Algiers, which forced Saadani to cut the session in a hurry, as his speech lasted only ten minutes.

Presence of Abdelaziz Belkhadem, at the meeting of the Olympic Stadium, shuffled the papers of the coming Presidential Elections again within the old party, as his presence at the room raised an uproar which was enough to distract the mind of Saadani, who looked disturbed and confused, prompting the latter to pass messages towards Belkhadem, believing that the latter came to spoil his FLN wedding while supporting Bouteflika’s fourth term.

Amar Saadani was forced to cut his meeting with FLN members at the Olympic Stadium, after has was surprised with the unexpected presence of Belkhadem, and decided to cut the session leaving the hall, before rushing to send faxes to newsrooms announcing the activation of a press conference on Saturday evening at the Party’s central headquarters.

Saadani tried to show his performance against opponents of President Bouteflika, by asserting that FLN “still calls for amending the Constitution”, adding that this process is one of the President’s powers, who can alone decide when and why this amendment will take place, explaining that FLN demands like other national political parties.

Saadani renewed his demand to the President Bouteflika to run for the fourth term, saying: “We are here to say that we nominate son of the party and the war veteran Abdelaziz Bouteflika for a new term, and I invite him on behalf of the party activists to run for a new term. Running for the elections is of the powers of the Central Committee and party organs, which announced the President of the Republic nomination for a new presidential term. I call upon the party activists and officials for good preparation to launch an electoral campaign which aimed at winning.”

In this context, reliable sources told Echorouk that Belkhadem, met on the eve of the meeting, with a group of his supporters inside the Central Committee, including 11 members in the presence of the leading members in FLN party Aiachi Dadoua.

Same source added that the meeting noticed the preparation of a plan for Belkhadem’s presence in the meeting, in order to test his weight and spoil Saadani’s meeting, by choosing the timing of Belkhadem’s arrival to the meeting rooms, which hosted the meeting of Saadani with the party members and officials, as Belkhadem and those who are with him asserted that the timing of his presence while Saadani started his speech aimed to confuse the latter. 

This is what actually happened, as the same meeting noticed the presence of Belkhadem supporters on the doors of the hall and inside it, highlighting that what Belkhadem did came in the wake of being sure that the constitution will not be amended before the Presidential Elections, and his suspicion on the President Bouteflika’s candidacy to the fourth term.
