Belkhadem to Echorouk: “I will not leave FLN”
Abdelaziz Belkhadem, Secretary-General of the National Liberation Front (FLN), insisted on keeping his position in the party, despite many parties called for his departure, and rebellion of members who were to him, as he decided about a date for his opponents to be the end of January, in the regular session of the upcoming Central Committee, on January 31, February the 1st.
Belkhadem said on Saturday, in a statement to Echorouk, that he had neither comments nor statements about the demand of his departure, adding that the Central Committee will decide about this matter.
He pointed out in response to Echorouk, about whether he will leave leadership of FLN by submitting his resignation from the party, after Almighty calls for his departure and rebellion of his nearest associates; “Central Committee is the only decision maker, and to then I have no comment”.
As for the reasons behind the insurgency if the eight ministers who demanded his departure, Belkhadem refused to provide any comment, saying only:” I have no comment.”
On the other hand, Abdelwahid Bouabdallah, FLN’s MP at the National People’s Assembly said, in a statement to Echorouk that, FLN ‘s MPs support Abdelaziz Belkhadem, and will not allow him to leave “as long as Belkhadem supports the President’s program”, explaining that the party really have problems, that are the result of democracy.
“Since Belkhadem is still loyal to the President Bouteflika, who is the honorary president of the party, we are with him and support him, and we will not allow him to leave the party. And regarding opponents and rebel ministers, if they have a clear program they have to present it”.
