Belkhadem’s demise on top of the agenda of the next party’s Assembly
Several personalities are bracing for the replacement of the current Secretary General of the National Liberation Front ( FLN) Abdemaziz Belkhadem, whose days as the leader of the old party, will not exceed the end of January at the latest.
Pending the holding of the Central Committee’s session slated for the end of January, the members of this governing body backed by Belkhadm’s opponents including the eight ministers that signed a petition against him, are thinking about the best outlet for the crisis to avoid the chaos witnessed during the last session in Eryadh Hotel, west of Algiers.
Leaked information have revealed that the SG’s opponents started a series of secret negotiations including the interior ministry and the tourism one summoning them to intervene in order to organize the next meeting at Al- Aurassi hotel here in Algiers at the end of January.
The choice of the place is aimed at closely monitoring the meeting’s sessions and filtering the identities of the participants to avoid the sad events that occurred last summer, it said.
Sources have revealed in this respect , that Abdelaziz Belkhadem has already chosen Aryadh hotel as the place for the holding of the next Assembly despite the objections made by several influential members from the party.
On the other hand, several influential personalities like the transportation minister Amar Tou, the employment one Tayeb Louh, Abderrezak Bouhara and the former president of the parliament Amar Saidani are regarded as potential candidates to replace the disputed SG.
But the candidacy of Abderrezak Bouhara is the most credible for the time being, as he is regarded as the man of the consensus within the party owing to his neutral position since the outbreak of the conflict between the two sides.
