Benjamin Stora apologized to Chadli in the “Lacoste” case

When the historian Benjamin Stora apologised to the late president Chadli on the issue of Lacoste, Chadli Ben Jedid blew a surprise by denying, in interviews with journalist, two years ago, the issue of his service with the French army, in what it was known as “The Lacoste group”, which a large number of the leaders of National People’s Army joined before joining the revolution.

It was common for the various Algerian historians and intellectuals since decades that Chadli Ben Jadid was one of them, as many went to give him the rank of sergeant, but some of the FIS leaders of and its fellows always justified the desire to claim his departure from power through civil disobedience, under this historical ailment, but confessions of the man who promised to publish his memoirs during the recent media interviews, since two years, that he only belonged to the National Liberation Army, opposite to some historical writings that have adopted the false information, especially the French historian with Algerian descent, Benjamin Stora, who made apologies for Chadli using a civilized way to correct his errors, and promised to delete them in the next works, and even in the new editions of many books that dealt with the history of Algeria and emerging crises after independence.
