Bensalah reaffirms RND Party’s all-out support for President Bouteflika

The interim Secretary General of the RND party (National Democratic Rally) Abdelkader Bensalah, has reiterated his all-out support for President Abdellaziz Bouteflika and by the same token for the latter’s possible bid for a fourth consecutive mandate at the helm of the country in the next presidential polls.

Taking the floor on Thursday at the opening of a broad-based meeting of members of the RND national commission in charge of preparing for the party’s fourth congress in the seaside resort town of Zeralda on the western coast of Algiers, Mr Abdelkader Bensalah said the RND backed President Bouteflika when he came to power and such a support for him would be pursued, alluding to a fourth mandate for the head of state, if ever he decides to vie for it in the 2014 presidential elections.

“The RND party will continue to back President’s Bouteflika’s program with the overall objective of boosting national development, enshrining the country’s stability and helping in the smooth implementation of genuine political reforms in Algeria, Mr Bensalah added.

Mr Bensalah also emphasized that the RND’s unfailing support for the President’s program and policy-line would be expounded through potent national alliances bringing together other political parties, mass organizations, associations from civil society and numerous national personalities representing various fields of endeavour.
