Benyounès:“Bouteflika doesn’t need Amar Saadani acting as his spokesman”
The leader of the Algerian Popular Movement, Amara Benyounès, has said that the President of the Republic, Abdellaziz Bouteflika doesn’t need any political party representative or any political coalition leader whatever their political persuasion serving as his own spokesmen saying that the head of state stands above all the parties across the national political spectrum.
In a statement to Echorouk, Amara Benyounès indicated that the past experience of a three-party coalition including the FLN, the RND and the MSP backing the political program of the President of the Republic had petered out owing to several untoward factors.
He said that the head of state had so far signaled nothing to his effect adding thata hoveringinter-party coalition buttressing the President of the Republic was not the order of the day for the time being.
Amara Benyounès further discounted the efficiency of the reported coalition between the FLN party and Amar Ghoul’s TAJ Rally in expectation of Bouteflika’s possible new election bid in 2014, saying that these party leaders should forsake the idea of posing as “political go-betweens” as clearly stated recently by Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal himself.
Amara Benyounès also noted that the past presidential three-party coalition was a dismal failure stressing that President Bouteflika who was regarded as the “consensus candidate” in his first mandate, is now very unlikely to vie for a fourth straight term under the banner of any political party or any broad political coalition.
