Bloc of Health Sector’s Syndicates insist on continuing the strikes despite the Ministry’s threats
The bloc of health sector's Syndicates decided organized a sit-in here on Saturday out of the Ministry of Health as a response to the threats by the minster Ould Abbas about firing doctors who insist on continuing the strike.
The Independent Bloc of Resident Doctors intensified consultations before appointing the committee of wise men, consisting of parliamentarians and deans of Medicine in Algeria, as well as university professors and experts in order to study one of the complicated files in health sector and the main reason behind insisting on a long strike (three months).
Spokesman for the Resident Doctors’ Independent Bloc, Ramdan Ben Aemer, explains on Saturday that the process of consultation and coordination with resident doctors in various Algerian localities under way in order to unify visions regarding the positions that representatives of resident doctors will present for the members of wise- men committee to be inaugurated here on Saturday at the Ministry of Health to end the crisis in the sector before it reaches dangerous levels in light of the two parties ‘adherence to the conflict, thing which deepens the suffering of patients and their families in hospitals following the three months’ strike, making it obligatory to resort to an independent neutral committee consisting of experts, university professors and parliamentarians from both chambers in order to find a solution to the crisis of professional service and end the crisis in health sector, even relatively.
“The bloc stood by the protest movement and will not freeze the strike despite the approval of the authorities to the amendments of the basic law. The early experiences show that all promises by the Ministry of Health can be applied in the case of a written document signed by the PM. The members called upon doctors to attend Saturday’s sit-in to respond to the Ministry which threatened the separation of doctors if they will continue striking”, he added.
