Bosnia refuses to receive three Algerian detainees at Guantanamo

Bosnia’s Foreign Minister, Sven Alkalaj visited Algeria to consider files of those former detainees in order to enable them to get their documents to enter to Algeria and visit their families, Mostafa Ait Idir, one of the three Algerian detainees who were recently released from Guantanamo bay said Monday.

• “The Algerian former detainees are in daily touch with the Algerian embassy in Bosnia, which looked at their daily news and circumstances. They have been informed about the visit by the Bosnian Foreign Minister to Algeria Sunday, where he met with Mourad Medelsi in order to facilitate things for those detainees until they decide to comeback home and see their relatives”, Mostafa told Echorouk.
• “When I returned to Bosnia everything was perfect. I’m living with my Bosnian wife and two children. We were all welcomed. Now I’m extracting my documents in order to visit Algeria with a new passport”, Mostafa added.
• “I faced some difficulties while trying to integrate into social life. Before I was detained in Guantanamo I was a computer engineer. I staid 7 years in Guantanamo that’s why I lost my skills”.
• Previously, Bosnia received three former Algerian detainees in Guantanamo on charges of trying to plot both the British and U.S embassies in Bosnia. The three former detainees are Mostafa Ait Idir, Mohamed Nechla and Elhadj Bou Delà.
• However, Bosnia refuses to receive three other Algerian detainees, who are still detained in the Cuban detention.
