Boudiaf: “We have taken all measures to avoid malaria transmission”

Health Ministry has taken all the necessary measures through inspections and control, as well as the examination at the level of all Wilayas where the malaria epidemic was discovered, through the commissioning of a Ministerial Committee of the National Institute of Health to oversee this process, Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform, Abdelmalek Boudiaf, said on the sidelines of a meeting with the Managers of Health and Population, and Officials of Hospitals of the Western Wilayas that was held in Oran.

“Preliminary results are reassuring and do not need concern, as this committee will raise a report to the ministry next Monday. Health Ministry monitors all developments in the field with respect to cases that have been discovered, and all the necessary precautions have been taken to do so”, he added.

 

Previously, Health Minister held a regional meeting with officials of the health sector in Algeria’s western Wilayas, and listened through it to the presentation of the projects that have been completed, as well as the various concerns and problems faced by the various hospitals of each Wilaya.

 

“Radical changes in the health sector, and work should be taken to modernize the sector in line with the technological developments taking place by connecting the various health institutions with information system in order to exchange various information related to the field of health. We have to improve social conditions for the professionals of the sector, especially in isolated areas,and the need to integrate the various employees who work in the system of contracts with the National Agency for Employment to bring about stability within the sector”.

 

“4000 financial positions have been allocated for doctors and specialists in order to avoid any shortfall in the human structures, in addition to the necessary technical infrastructure to improve the health situation. There is no shortage of medicines at the Ministry level. We should send the lists of medicines needed by each hospital and health institution before November 15, and the vaccines are also available at the level of Pasteur Institute, as there is no shortage of it”.
