Bougherra elected best player of 2010 and Raouraoua elected best sporting personality of the year
The Algeria and Glasgow Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra has been elected best football player of the year 2010 by the national sporting press.
- This choice was made during an ordinary ballot bearing the name “Brahim Dahmani” organized every year by the Algerian Press Agency (APS) with the participation of a large number of journalists from several newspapers and sports magazines.
- The talented Algerian defender Bougherra secured the first slot in the overall standings with 43 votes.
- Meanwhile, the Algerian first-league championship squad of ES Setif (ESS) was elected best team of the year given the numerous titles it garnered during the year 2010.
- For his part, the chairman of the Algerian Football Federation, Mohamed Raouraoua, was elected best sporting personality of the year owing to his unflagging efforts for the promotion of Algerian football at the regional and international level during 2010.
