Bouteflika passes 7 laws and retains 7 others

Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika passed 7 draft laws while he dropped 7 others from the agenda of a cabinet meeting held on Sunday.

Those draft laws were postponed to the next meeting, Echorouk has learnt.
According to Sunday’s meeting agenda, President Bouteflika passed 7 draft laws and kept 7 others. Of them, a draft law on biological resources, a draft law modifying and completing the law No 04-05 about prisons law and a draft law related to the protection of children.
In spite of the importance of the draft law modifying and completing the law No 06-98 about civil aviation and the draft law modifying and completing the law No 07-79 about customs law, they were postponed to the next cabinet meeting.
Autumn session deadlines do not allow to discuss and pass accumulated draft laws. A total of 75 days are needed for the discussion,modification and approbation of the finance law. A draft law modifying the penal code is important for the protection of children, the criminalization of kidnapping and management acts criminalization.
Due to the situation in the region, Algeria passed a draft law modifying the countersmuggling law as terrorist groups have become a protective cover for smuggling mafia.
