British judicial authorities postpone khalifa’s case
Abdelmoumen Khalifa
The judge Timothy Warkman of Westminster court in London asked for another translation of the Algerian request concerning the extradition of the runaway Abdelmoumen Khalifa, following an appeal made by the defendant’s lawyer. The hearing sessions will resume next Tuesday at the latest.

- Thursday’s hearings were supposed to decide on the Algerian request to extradite the former businessman, but the defendant’s lawyer rose doubts on the request arguing that a document in the translated file to the English version doesn’t match the original one.
- The lawyer based his defence strategy on the agreement sealed between the Algerian authorities and the British ones concerning extraditions, which stipulates that the request should be written in the original language of the requesting side accompanied with a translated version in the language of hosting country.

But all it seems that the case will last in time since Abdelmoumen khalifa’s lawyers based their defence strategy on the humanitarian side and called for the support of the human rights organizations.
