Cevital to start five retail projects by 2009

Cevital has submitted five industrial projects at the National Agency for the Development of Investment.  

• Issad Rabrab Cévital’s CEO  told Echrouk that his group will launch, beginning of 2009, retail projects which would create thousands of jobs in Algeria.
• “The five projects include  Petrochemicals, and Aluminium in both Oran and Mostaghanem, west of Algeria. Also the group will start a project for producing potatoeseeds in Bouira, east of Algiers. It would help limit  importation, beginning of 2010,” said Rabrab.
• “Strict administrative procedures to approve the fifth projects, although important, did not stop us from presenting new projects in the fields of steel and cement, as well as Aluminium in collaboration with the Canadian Consortium and Australian Rio Tinto,” he added.
• “If the investment authorities, including the Agency of supervising investment and the National council for investment, approve our projects we will launch 120 large retail centers, beginning of 2009, five regional units for supply, 130 points for sale and a transportation network, as well as the largest shopping centre in Algeria, which will be completed in Bab Ezouar, Algiers,” he explained.
• “The group announced a global auction to recruite the head of  the University of Cevital, which will be the first private university in Algeria, and will be based in the capital Algiers”.
• “In 2009, we will hire more than 100 tires and experts to oversee the various projects”.
