Chairman of Algerian Football Federation to run for a seat in FIFA’s Executive Board

The chairman of the Algerian football federation Mohammed Raouraoua has confirmed the information reported by Echorok last Monday concerning his candidacy as a member in the FIFA Executive Board in the wake of the sanctions issued by this institution against the Nigerian Amos Adamos, suspended for three years, and the Tahitian Renald Timari ( one year) over accusations of selling their voices in the upcoming votes slated for December 2 to select the candidates for the hosting of the 2018 and 2022 world cup competitions.

  • Mohammed Raouraoua has indicated in a declaration to Echourok that he has presented his candidacy to join FIFA’s Executive Board especially that he is backed by the members of the African Football Union General Assembly who asked him to run for the post in replacement of Amos Adamos.

  • As to the date of the votes, the chairman has declared” There are five candidates for the post and the votes are slated for next February on the occasion of the African Cup of Nations for local players hosted by Sudan”.

  • Blida stadium to be closed soon

  • On the other hand, the president has indicated that Tchaker stadium in the province of Blida will be closed soon for works on the pitch, locker rooms and bleachers declining to precise the  date.

  • The president of the club Mohammed Zaim has confirmed the information to Echourok noting that the operation is designed to prepare the stadium for the different Algerian squads that will host their adversaries for their future competitions.

  • The works will take six months at least, according to one of the managers.

  • The match versus Morocco in 5th July Olympic stadium

  • Mohammed Raouraoua has also noted that the upcoming match between Algeria and Morocco counting for the qualifications to the African cup of Nations, will take place here in Algiers at the Olympic stadium or another town because of restoration works due to start soon at Blida stadium.
