Chairman of Egyptian Football federation to appear before the judge for gross misconduct

The International Football Governing Body (FIFA) has sent a correspondence to the Egyptian Football Federation in which it informed it confirmed the sanctions against this institution in the aftermath of the attack on the Algerian bus in Cairo that left four injuries among the players and the goalkeepers’ coach, Egyptian sources have revealed.

The document comes to confirm the declarations made by the chairman of the Algerian Football federation Mohammed Raouraoua to Al Jazeera sports where he revealed that the Fifa threatened the Egyptian federation to exclude the “Pharaohs” from the 2014 World cup in Brazil if similar events had to occur with other football teams, but the Chairman of the Egyptian Federation Samer Zaher declined to make this information public.

The first provision of the document, that contains five, condemns the Egyptian Federation for failing to guarantee security for the Algerian delegation before and after the match that took place last November 14, and failing to secure the stadium ,in keeping with the Fifa’s rules.

The second point deals with the relocation of two matches of the Egyptian national team during the 2014 world cup qualifiers at least 100KM away from the capital city Cairo, while the third provision mentions the fine imposed on the Egyptian Federation estimated at CHF 100’000 to be paid within 30 days.

In the fourth provision, the Fifa threatens the Egyptian federation to issue harsher sanctions that could be the exclusion from the next World cup tournament in Brazil if the same events as those occurred in Cairo happens in the future.

The Chairman of the Egyptian Council of sports, Sakr, is due to lodge a complaint against Samer Zaher in order to investigate on the gross mismanagement that surrounded the treatment of the case that led to the sanctioning of the Egyptian federation, reliable sources added.
