Chiali: “Algerian companies will be punished due to bad performance in the East-West Highway”
Public Works Ministry will take strict and punitive measures against the institutions of achievement that did not show good performance in the achievement of projects in accordance with the applicable standards, Public Works Minister Chiali Farouk, said.
“Foreign companies are not responsible of the deterioration of Lakhdaria highway”, he added.
“The Ministry will launch prosecutions against contractors who caused disruption of the projects due to the lack of international standards in the completion of projects which drawback appeared later along the lines of East-West Highway at Lakhdaria part. Compensation would be material and moral by placing the names of those contractors in the blacklists. These deterrent actions will depend on each contract which does not respect the terms of its deal, either foreign or national”.
During his inspection visit to Tipaza the Minister asserted that the Japanese and Chinese companies are not responsible of the poor quality of road works, because that way falls under the old program.
