Chinese workers attempt to prevent Algerian experts from discovering East-West motorway project damages
Algeria East-West motorway is under surveillance.

Head of the fifth part of the east-west highway’ project, linking between Hussseinia and Khemis Meliana in Ain Defla province, at a distance of 23 kilometres, confirmed that the Algerian company of studying public places and which is specialized in controlling the achievements’ quality, was able to oblige the Chinese company demolishing part of the fifth bridge and correcting defects that have been discovered by Algerian experts during surveillance operations.

  • Project’s president admitted in a statement to Echorouk that this error did not deviate from the international criteria in this kind of projects which is important and strategically dangerous, and said that the Chinese company in charge of accomplishing this project had recognized its fault and rushed to correct the situation, but the report copy obtained by “ Echorouk” confirmed that this operation had been repeated several times by the Chinese company.
  • The report called for law application on the Chinese company, because of repetition of the same mistakes and shortcomings in the achievement, to verify safety of materials used in construction.
  • The total number of the pillars is 1200 columns, each one’s depth between 19 meters and 29 meters depending on the landmines’ nature, with an estimated cost of 42 million centimes. The experience showed that the 134 distorting column in not straight, 17 have been reconstructed in a forged way.

  • In an attempt to hide the recorded flows of this project, the Chinese company hastened to do some work at nights, in order not to detect manipulation, which necessitated Algerian experts’ intervention half an hour before the 8th to 9th midnight of June.
