Christian community in Tizi Ouzou to create its own organization

The Christian community in the region of Tizi Ouzou (100 kms from Algiers) prepared a draft bill including main rules governing churches to be accompanied by formal documents for approval to reopen the closed churches in the region in order to practice their faith legally.

• The project includes also the creation of a Christian Organization baptized the “Christian Cultural Organization” which aims at bringing together the Christian community in this town and supervise their activities within the framework of an organization legally approved by the Algerian legislation.
• The draft bill states that the organization accepts the adhesion of each individual providing that this one possess the Algerian nationality, declares his prior conversion to Christian faith, major and cherishes all his civil and legal rights.
