Communication minister to Echourouk: The opening of the audiovisual sector is near

Talking yesterday during his visit to Echourouk premises, the newly appointed minister of communication Mohammed Said has declared that things will be clearer concerning the audiovisual law during the first half of the year 2013.

• Adopting a rather realistic posture when dealing with the intricate difficulties that accumulated cross the years, the minister was neither pessimistic nor optimistic when it comes to tackling them.

• However, the minister has revealed that he owes a lot to this institution that allowed him to express himself whenever necessary, while he was prevented to it by others declining naming them.

• Mohamed said called on the journalists to restructure themselves within a legal and clear framework saying” The profession will never find an official and trustful spokesman unless chosen by the journalists themselves”.

• The minister has asserted that the audiovisual organic law is not clear yet and requires further discussion, adding that he was ready to exchange views with all the parties without exception.

• Mohammed said has linked the delay in opening the audiovisual sector to the private operators by the priority to carry out sound and in-depth reforms, but he was aware that there is some apprehension.
