Conflict rises between the RND and FLN
Appointment of managers for the electoral campaign in the various localities brought a tension between the FLN and RND parties. FLN accused its ally in the government of dominating the most important localities, which required personal intervention by the general secretary of FLN, Abdelaziz Belhkadem, who asked Minister Sellal, director of the electoral campaign, to present clear justifications behind those appointments.

“I refuse exclusion of FLN from the General administration of the campaign which is headed by Selal. I insisted on the need to reconsider these appointments which are unfair,” Belkhadem said.

RND denies the information, “RND had won only 10 localities, and FLN won more than 22 localities. We are not responsible for appointing managers for the campaign. The directorate which organized the 2004 elections, decided to appoint them in the various localties. What is important is to organize successful elections”, spokesman of the RND, Miloud Charfi said.

The MSP ignored its marginalization in this campaign, because it won only southern and far localities such as Tindouf and Msila. “Coalition parties do not need any conflict, but they are seeking competition through organizing successful campaigns, as well as attracting the largest number of voters”, said its leading member Abderrahman Saidi.
