Corpse of Algerian woman shot dead in Libya arrived homeland amid grief

Kouidri’s family received the corpse of their beloved Zahra, 30, who was shot dead by criminals in Libya last Monday; amid grief and sadness which overwhelmed the reception of her corpse, as weeping and wailing characterized Algiers International Airport as soon as the victim’s corpse arrived on a flight of Air Algérie from Tripoli, Libya.

Loud shouting and crying prevailed at the services of the corpses at Houari Boumediene airport, as soon as the corpse of the Algerian girl Kouidri Zahra who was killed in Libya, as grief appeared on the faces of her family members, while her sister was crying and the hall shook at the arrival of the corpse in a scene full of sadness that broke the hearts of the audience.

Young Algerian girl who was shot recently in Libya was buried in her hometown in the Municipality of Sidi Hammadouche in Sidi Bel Abbes (western Algeria), in an atmosphere of sadness that was attended by members of her family and the people of the region, where representatives of the authorities were absent, particularly including representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and National Solidarity.

The victim’s father, Khemisti Zahra, 30, said; “Today I realized that my daughter lived expatriate and died a strange. I found myself struggling on my own misfortune that has befallen me, although the deceased before she is my daughter, she is an Algerian and was killed treacherously in Libya, and the Algerian authorities should have helped me for the transfer of her corpse and opened an investigation into the circumstances of her murder”.

“My daughter’s friends in Libya ensured the corpse transfer, and not the Algerian consulate, which refused to provide any information about the circumstances of the incident. I paid the travel costs to the capital’s airport in order to receive her corpse, even though I get a pension of no more than 15000 ZDZ, without any support from central and local authorities, which did not even attend her burial. I do not know until this time how did they kill my daughter, and the reasons behind the murder. I only received her coffin, which holds her corpse and the coroner’s report which confirms that it has received shots at the level of the back which opened the rib”.

“Zahra’s family insist on uncovering the death circumstances, who was going back to her homeland permanently this month, and those behind the assassination knew that”, said the victim’s relatives and people of the region who attended the burial, and denounced severely the marginalization against the victim’s family, even though everyone knows that it is one of the poorest families in the region, and no official party supported the victims’ family during the funeral.
