Countdown for 3G launch starts in Algeria

Countdown to the launch of the third generation services of mobile phone officially starts, as the envelopes of the tender for participation in third-generation services were opened and provided by the three mobile phone operators, Nedjma, Mobilis and Djezzy.

Commission of opening the tenders’ envelopes announced on Sunday, at the headquarters of Post and Transport in Algiers Hussein Day, on the acceptance of files that were provided by the three mobile operators, where an inventory of the content of each of the financial and technical side was presented, as well as the legal supply for each operator. 

Folds were opened successively according to the date and access to the control services, where Mobilis envelope was opened first, then Nedjma, and finally Djezzy.

Commission checked out each envelope to make sure it respects the conditions that were set forth in the Declaration of the bid, as the same committee will study the three operators’ offers, and the extent of their respect to the standards that are contained in the book of conditions, to be announced on the granting of licenses on October 15 of this year, and launch the service later officially on December.

Submissions will be evaluated by the operators on the basis of criteria relating to the technical and financial offers, as the technical presentation will be evaluated on the basis of 1600 points, and the financial offer on the basis of 400 points.

New Minister of Post, Information and Communication Technologies, which was for years Head of the control authority of the sector, Zohra Derdouri, refused to make statements to the media that attended largely the event to cover the process of opening the envelopes.
