Court postpones case of suspects for attack on Algerian President Bouteflika
An assasisnation attempt against Algerian President Bouteflika caused 25 dead and at least 173 injured.

The court of Batna (eastern Algeria) Tuesday postponed the case of the terrorist network responsible for the suicide attack against the president Abdelaziz Bouteflika carried out by “Houari Belazrag” nicknamed “Abu Al Makdad Al Ouahrani”.

  • According to several sources, the delay was requested by the defendants’ lawyers. The terrorists were arrested by security and intelligence services few hors after the attack that caused 25 dead and at least 173 injured.
  • To recall, the group that has been arrested fist comprised 11 members including 6 young men about to join the ranks of the so called “death squad”, but the most dangerous elements of the network are the kamikaze”Abu Al Mokdad Al ouahrani” and the ring leader Ali. M, known “Abu Rouaha”, recently isolated from the squad by Abdelmalek droudkel.
  • The next appearance before the court is slated for June, 17 2008 following the defendants’ lawyers request to enable them a better study of the file and the charges against each individual.
