Crooks swindle Algerian new housing-seekers to buy luxurious apartments in Spain
The Office in charge of the management of public promotional housing located in the district of Hussein Dey in central Algiers has exposed a shady affair implicating a housing developer and his henchmen who are accused of diverting large sums of money after promising new housing seekers newly-built flats in the province of Algiers.
Shortly after the revelation of this rip-off and the complaint lodged with the relevant authorities by the hapless swindled citizens, the security services have opened an in-depth investigation to unravel all the intricacies of the affair.
According to the findings of the preliminary investigation, 49 victims have so far been identified and more are yet to be registered in the case by the security services, Echorouk has learnt from reliable sources close to the file.
The culprits who are still at large have promised these credulous citizens new flats in exchange of 600 million centimes (DA) for each unit.
After picking out shamelessly all the money paid in advance by their victims, the gang of swindlers reportedly used this major financial package to purchase luxurious apartments in various parts of Spain, according to the same sources.
