Delegations of Ansareddine Movement to visit Algeria, Mauritania
Ansareddine Movement (supporters of religion) led by Iyad Ghali, a former diplomat in Mali, who was consul in Jeddah and has important relations with officials in the Arab countries, is seeking to hold strategic alliances with both Algeria and Mauritania, to protect them from a Western military strike, as the movement ensures the restriction of activity of jihadist movements , especially Al Qaeda in the Desert and the Sahel region, which threatens security of the two countries, coming from Mali and Azawad area .
The movement decided to mediate in the case of the Algerian hostages that were abducted by the movement of Tawhid and Djihad (Unification and Jihad), allied with Al Qaeda and Ansareddine in Gao where they are taking control of the region.
AFP reported that a delegation from Ansareddine moved to Algeria to discuss the security situation in the Azawad territory and to avoid a possible military strike from the West after jihadists controlled the region and the demand of Niger to speed up military strike to put matters right before the secession of the region from Mali, especially as Ansareddine fighters look like al-Qaeda fighters.
Mauritanian news websites also reported that Ansareddine Movement’s delegation, led by Iyad Ag Ghali, will visit the Mauritanian capital Nouakchott in the coming days, in order to meet the Mauritanian authorities and “clarify the position of the movement in front of the world.”
